A Froxeo order is three lines and a total: the books, the shipping, and sales tax on New York addresses. This page follows each line, then follows what the card sees, and marks where every promise ends.

The total shows before the button, and nothing joins it afterward

Currency: US dollars, everywhere on the site.
The price: the figure on the book's page is the figure in the cart.
On the checkout screen, above the Place order button: the books, the shipping line ($4.49 under $32, $0 from $32), a sales tax line for New York addresses, and the total.
The charge: that total, once. No processing fee, no card surcharge, no membership, no subscription, no trial that turns into a bill.
A discount code: one per order. It reduces the book subtotal, and the shipping line is decided on the reduced figure. Expired, or never issued by Froxeo, it does nothing, and no order is held for it.
Where it stops: the total is fixed when the order is placed. A price that moves on the site the next morning moves nothing for an order already made.

Cards go through Stripe, PayPal handles the rest, and neither shows Froxeo a card number

Stripe: Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover, and Apple Pay or Google Pay where the phone or browser supports them.
PayPal: a PayPal balance and whatever is linked to the PayPal account.
Anything this section does not name: a check, a money order, a bank wire, cash to the mail carrier: not accepted.
Where the digits go: into a field operated by Stripe or by PayPal, encrypted on the way.
What Froxeo sees: that the payment cleared, four digits from the end of the card number, and the cardholder name. Never the whole number.
The processors: both hold the card industry's PCI DSS certification and screen every payment for fraud themselves.
Where it stops: Froxeo does not claim that any payment on the internet is beyond all risk. It can say that the risk never passes through Froxeo.

The charge lands with the order, because the wholesaler is paid then too

When: as the order goes in, not when the book ships. Froxeo buys the copy from the wholesaler against that payment, which is why a cancellation has to land before midnight Eastern on the order day.
A declined card: makes no order. Another card, or PayPal, may be tried; a repeated decline is a question for the bank, which holds the reason.
A hold after a failed attempt: not a charge, only the look of one. The bank releases it by itself within 7 business days, and nothing Froxeo does can shorten that.

An unfamiliar charge is matched to an order within a business day

Why it may look odd: the statement line carries the payment processor's descriptor.
What to do: before opening a dispute with the bank, email contact@froxeo.com with the amount and the date.
Answer: within 1 business day, either the order behind the charge or confirmation that the charge is not Froxeo's.
A wrong amount: the difference refunded within 3 business days.
Where it stops: a dispute filed with the bank first locks the money up for weeks on both ends and settles nothing faster.

Refunds take the same road back

Destination: whichever card or PayPal account paid at checkout. Never a different one, never store credit.
Issued: within 3 business days of the return or cancellation being approved.
Posted: 3 to 10 business days after that, on the bank's or PayPal's clock.
Shipping refunded or kept: decided case by case in the Refund and Returns Policy.
